Central wrestlers compete in Heath

HEATH - Three Steubenville Catholic Central wrestlers competed in Division III District wrestling at Heath High School.

Cuyler Ledyard won his opening match at 132 pounds by 4-2 decision over Belpre's Manney Tullius. Ledyard faces Jared Dilley of Amanda-Clearcreek in the second round today.

Blake Kiedrowski (106) and Leo Herrmann (152) lost their first round matches by pinfall to Plaesant's Zon Fields and 9-5 decision to Amanda-Clearcreek's Caleb Horn respectively. Kiedrowski faces Javier Cornell of Fredericktown and Herrmann faces Robee Wallace of Paint Valley in the losers bracket today.

Weir will host Oak Glen

WEIRTON - The Weir High boys basketball team will host Oak Glen at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the West Virginia Class AA Region 1, Section 1 tournament. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Only WVSSAC passes will be honored.

Edison to hold steak fry

EAST SPRINGFIELD - The Edison Athletic Department will sponsor a Steak Fry and Auction beginning at 5 p.m. on March 10 at the Countryside Inn. The auction will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Follansbee to hold sign-ups

FOLLANSBEE - The Follansbee Girls Fastpitch Softball League will hold registration from noon to 3 p.m. March 3 at the Follansee Public Library. The cost is $50 for one child, $85 for two and $115 for three.

Wellsburg to hold sign-ups

WELLSBURG - The Wellsburg Baseball Association will hold registration from 10 a.m. to noon today at the Wellsburg Christian Church. The costs are $45 for Shetland and Pinto Leagues, $50 for Mustang and Bronco Leagues and $60 for Pony League. First-year players must bring a copy of their birth certificate.

Brilliant to hold sign-ups

BRILLIANT - Final registration will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today for Brilliant Little League at the Wells Township Office for T-ball (ages 4-6), softball (7-18) and baseball (7-12).

The cost is $55 for one child, $65 for two children and $5 for each additional child.

STEUBENVILLE - The Ohio Valley Senior Softball League is seeking players and teams for its men's 50-and-over league.

The cost is $25 per player to cover cost of fields, umpires and game balls. Licensed softball umpires and U.S. Senior Softball Association rules will be used. Games will beplayed Monday through Friday evenings.
