ROBERTS, Ruth E., 84, of Wintersville, Ohio, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at D & D Quality Care, Weirton, W.Va.
She was born in Steubenville on April 27, 1927, a daughter of the late Frank and Georgia Moran VanKirk. Ruth was a member of Finley United Methodist Church and had worked the Republican election polls for many years.
Preceded in death by her husband John Henry Roberts, Jr.; brother Frank "Hank" VanKirk; sisters Blanche Clapham and Anna Keifer.
Ruth is survived by her sons Dan (Frankie) Roberts of Fayetteville, N.C., and Roger (Lori) Roberts of Wintersville, Ohio; her daughters Joy Lapoczka of Rayland, Ohio, and Jo-Ann (Dave) Gibson of Mingo Junction, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio, on Sunday 3-7 p.m., where funeral services will be held Monday 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Delbert Lash officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
