QUALTIRE, Rose M., 80, of Wintersville, (known to many as "Mama Rose") died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 23, 1931, in Avella, Pa. She is the daughter of the late John Andriano and Sara Bell Seaman Andriano Karamonolis; Rose is also preceded in death by her stepfather, Emanuel Karamonolis, brothers, Gene, Chuck and John Andriano and sisters, Betty Cicarelli and Emmie Karamonolis.
Surviving are her husband, Louis J. Qualtire whom she married April 2, 1951; son, Alexander Qualtire of Malvern; daughters, Sara (Rob) Malcolm of Wintersville, Claudia Qualtire of Tuscon, Julie (Mike) Krupinski of Cadiz and Maria (Tim) Hamilton of Steubenville; brothers, Glen (Lisa) Andriano of Follansbee, Jim (Barb) Karamonolis and Chris (Toni) Karamonolis both of Wintersville; grandchildren, Robby Malcolm of Weirton, Michael (Sherrie) Malcolm of Steubenville, Emily Doyle of Calif. and Gracie Hamilton of Steubenville; great-grandchildren, Sylar and Amsley Malcolm both of Steubenville; also her extended and friends, Paula, Laura, Maggie, Charlene, Shelia, Antoinette, Claire, Dave, Mariah, Jack and Lizzy; also many nieces and nephews.
Rose was a great advocate for children and animals.
Her special pets, Sampson, Peanut, Spatz, Mama Kitty, Ruby and Reba.
She was a life member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church its CWC and Prayer Line, also a member of TOPS.
Calling hours are Sunday 4-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. Steubenville, where services will be held 9:30 a.m. Monday, Monsignor Kurt Kemo, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to Charity Hospice.
