MULROONEY, Eugene J., 80, of Wintersville, loving husband, dedicated father and grandfather, died Sunday Jan. 8, 2012, at Trinity West.
He was born June 1, 1931, in Steubenville, the son of the late Owen E. and Ann Corriston Mulrooney.
Eugene was retired from the former Satralloy Corp. where he was a crane operator, he served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1951.
Surviving are his wife; Joann Gerace Mulrooney whom he married June 18, 1955, one son, Shawn Mulrooney of Macedonia, Ohio, and one daughter, Kim (Timothy) Oliver of Cambridge, Ohio; three grand children, Ryan and Erin Mulrooney and Kristin Oliver.
Eugene was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and it's Men's Club; American Legion Post 557, P.N.A., Fraternal Order of Eagles 2875, Huron, Ohio, was a charter member of the Fun Seekers Senior Group, the Italian American Culture Club and was an avid Notre Dame fan.
Calling hours are Tuesday 3-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Monsignor Kurt Kemo, celebrant. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be a vigil service Tuesday at 5 pm.
