Students in Brooke High School's chapter of Future Educators of America helped to make Christmas merry for children in need while learning to shop for age-appropriate and creative toys.

On hand for a presentation of the toys to the Brooke County Salvation Army were Nuncia Filippelli, Kaleigh Mikels, Alexis Thorfinnson, Gabrielle Floyd, Karlee Hilt, Vanessa Tomasilli, Morgan Green and Desiree Boley, Casey Weekly, Angelina Smith, Afton Humbert, Ryan Cipoletti, Angela Casinelli and Chelsy Marsh.

Each year, their teacher, Diane Lucero, assigns them with the task of selecting toys that don't require batteries or other accessories and encourage creativity or good interpersonal skills.

The students raised about $970 to purchase the toys through the sale of pepperoni rolls, T-shirts and other items and donations from faculty.
