BRILLIANT - Alice Jean and Charles Lowell Shields are celebrating their 69th wedding anniversary today.
They were married Oct. 30, 1942, in East Springfield United Methodist Church with the bride's uncle, Ernest Weals, officiating.
She is the daughter of the late Garnet and Victor Weals, and he is the son of the late Mae and Walter Shields of Unionport.
They have three children: David of Bremen, Curtis of Ostrander and Carla Shields of Wintersville. They have one granddaughter and four great-grandchildren.
