Class to hold

25-year reunion

WELLSBURG - The Brooke High School Class of 1986 reunion committee hasn't been able to locate a number of classmates.

All class members are invited to its 25-year reunion July 1 and 2.

An icebreaker will be held at 7 p.m. July 1 at DeStefano's Restaurant in Follansbee. The reunion dinner-dance will be held at the Wellsburg Fire Hall the following day.

Doors will open at 5 p.m., and everyone is asked to arrive at 6 p.m. for photos.

Tickets are $30 per person and $60 per couple, and reservations are requested by June 22.

Festival to include

car cruise

COLLIERS - The Colliers Fire Department Festival will include a classic car cruise from noon to 3 p.m. today.

Classic car owners are invited to register at 11 a.m. outside the Colliers Volunteer Fire Department.

There will be dash plaques for all participants.

There will be music from the 1950s and 60s provided by a disc jockey, door prizes and a 50-50 drawing during the car cruse.

The two-day festival also will include a variety of hot food served by the fire department's auxiliary, games and live music.

Kiwanis barbecue set

WELLSBURG - The Wellsburg Kiwanis Club will hold its annual chicken barbecue from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the parking lot of the Brooke County Board of Education at the corner of 12th and Commerce streets.

The cost is $7 per dinner, which includes half a chicken cooked rotisserie-style, baked potato, applesauce, roll and dessert.
