Colliers PTA plans picnic

The Colliers Primary School Parent-Teacher Association met recently with President Sabrina Fox presiding and the first-grade classes leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

Officers for the upcoming year were elected as follows: President Denise Spensky, First Vice President Tawnya Dennis, Second Vice President Melissa Garrett, Secretary Monica Hosler, Treasurer Kim Anderson, Parliamentarian Beck Moore and Historian LaDonna Warrick.

Homeroom parents filed reports and announced the school picnic will be held May 31. The ways and means committee reported on the flower sale. The yearbook will be sold for $20.

Door prizes were awarded, and refreshments were served following the meeting.

Memorial Day

services set

Memorial Day services will be held at 11 a.m. May 30 at the Veterans Monument at Colliers School.

Participants will include: the Revs. Fred Fletcher and Tom Deane; Colliers United Methodist Church Choir, Chloe, McKensie and Sabrina Fox; Patty Fletcher, Bernie Sanders, Katy Gardei and the Colliers Fire Department. Refreshments will be served at the school.

The program is being organized by Phyllis Aria.

Fish frys resume

Phyllis Aria, Colliers Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary president, has announced the group's weekly fish frys have resumed and will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Friday.

Trappers elect officers

The Northern Panhandle Trappers Association met at the Colliers Fire Hall and the following officers were re-elected for the upcoming year: President Jack Cain, Vice President Lester Ross, Secretary Brian Taylor and Treasurer Tim Cain.

Smokey McNicholas will be the club representative at state events.

The annual summer club dinner will be held at 5 p.m. June 25 at the Colliers Fire Hall.

The next meeting is June 1.

Bible school

date set

The Colliers Christian Church will hold a three-day vacation Bible school July 12-14.

More information will be announced as it is released.

Community yard sale set

The Colliers community yard sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 11, with residents throughout town participating.

Signup sheets will be available at the Colliers Fire Department Auxiliary's fish fry or by calling Phyllis Aria at (304) 797-1380 or Carol Cain at (304) 748-3155.
