SMITHFIELD - Lawton and Gladys Brumett of Smithfield will be celebrating 65 years of marriage today.
They were married on April 10, 1946, in Texas.
Lawton is retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and is a veteran. Gladys is a retired telephone operator.

The couple have three children: John of Dallas, Brenda of Wintersville and Pam of Dillonvale. They also have four grandchildren.
A reception is planned at Rush Run Community Chapel to celebrate.
