WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Public Library and its Follansbee Branch will observe National Library Week, April 11-16, with a variety of activities.
They include: a healthy foods cooking class for adults at 5:30 p.m. Monday; after-school snacks cooking class for children, ages 10 and up, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday; free computer class for adults at 11 a.m. Friday; and a screening of the animated Disney film, "Tangled," at 11 a.m. Saturday.
All of the events will be held at the Brooke County Library except for the computer class, which will be held at the Follansbee Branch.
Children will be able to make a bookmark at an activity table set up at both libraries throughout the day on Tuesday.
Patrons are asked to register for all of the free programs except the activity tables by calling (304) 737-1551 or (304) 527-0860.
The libraries also will waive fines for anyone who brings a can of food for each overdue item they return. The food will be donated to the Brooke County Salvation Army.
