WELLSBURG - Sharon Marie Misch of Wellsburg is facing fraud charges after she allegedly withdrew $1,500 from an ATM using a credit card belonging to Brooke County Public Library Director Mary K. Wallace.

Misch also is accused in an unrelated fraud case in Allegheny County, Pa., along with her ex-husband, Brent David Misch, also of Wellsburg. According to a clerk at the Moon Township Magisterial District Court, both are charged with identity theft, theft by deception, criminal conspiracy and forgery.

On Monday, Wellsburg police arrested Sharon Misch, 37, of 310 Bonnie Beth Drive. She is charged in Brooke County with five counts of fraud in connection with an access device.

The criminal complaint filed in Brooke County Magistrate Court alleges Sharon Misch made five separate $300 withdrawals from an automated teller machine at Main Street Bank in Wellsburg from Nov. 24-30, using Wallace's credit card.

Moon Township police on Tuesday confirmed the Misches' arrests; however, further questions were referred to Officer Jonathan Fry, who could not be reached for comment. According to a report in the Beaver County Times, Fry said the two were arrested Jan. 10 for attempting to purchase a 2011 Hyundai Sonata from a Moon Township dealership, with Brent Misch posing as Sharon Misch's brother.

The vehicle they reportedly were attempting to trade in, a 2003 Ford pickup truck, belongs to Sharon Misch's current husband. When the dealership told them the truck's owner had to be present to complete the trade, Sharon Misch reportedly agreed to leave the truck at the dealership and return by Jan. 10 with her husband and the Sonata.

The dealership contacted police and reported the vehicle stolen after the Misches failed to return by closing time that day. Police then contacted Sharon Misch's brother, who reportedly was "furious" and unaware of the transaction.

Township police arrested the pair when they attempted to return the Sonata later that evening and retrieve the pickup truck.

Sharon Misch is scheduled to appear before Brooke County Magistrate Michael Allman at 10 a.m. Jan. 26 on the credit card fraud charges.

She remained lodged Tuesday at the Northern Regional Jail in Moundsville, held in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Sharon and Brent Misch both have Feb. 1 court dates on the Pennsylvania charges, before District Judge Mary P. Murray.
