BLOOMINGDALE - Raymond and Ruth Hawkins of Bloomingdale recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary by having dinner at the Cheesecake Factory in Kettering with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
They were married Sept. 28, 1950, in the old Bloomingdale Presbyterian Church with the late Rev. D. Hamilton Funk officiating.
She is the former Ruth Flohr, daughter of the late Charles and Edith Flohr, and he is the son of the late James P. and Elizabeth Hawkins.
Ray retired from Sears Roebuck in 1992 with 40 years of service. Ruth was a Wayne Township clerk from 1977-92.
The couple have been members of the Bloomingdale Presbyterian Church for 60 years.
They have four children, Patty Felmet, Candy Newburn, Dennis Hawkins and James Hawkins. There are eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
