STEUBENVILLE - Albert and Eleanor Pavlik of Steubenville will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary June 24. There will be a celebration at Covenant Presbyterian Church following the June 27 church service.
They were united in marriage June 24, 1950, in the Church of the Epiphany in Pittsburgh, with Revs. Kenneth Waldren and John Kochera officiating.
He is the son of the late Albert and Anna Pavlik Sr. and is a chemical engineering graduate of Carnegie Tech in Pittsburgh, a Navy veteran of World War II and is retired from Barium & Chemicals Inc. - the company started by Pavlik Jr. and his father - where he worked for 57 years and was vice president. He also was one of 14 investors who started UniBank and served on the board of directors until the bank merged with Citizen's Bank, which later became Sky Bank.
She is the daughter of the late Dan and Ada Bucy. She attended Margaret Morrison College in Pittsburgh. She has been a homemaker and also worked with her husband at Barium & Chemicals Inc.
They are members of Covenant Presbyterian, where he is an elder and she a deacon and Sunday school teacher.
They have four children: Albert D., Virginia Exley, Charles and Carol. They also have 11 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
