Steel drum band to play in Colliers

The Heavenly Metal Steel Drum Band will be performing at 5 p.m. June 13 at the Colliers United Methodist Church, 318 Pennsylvania Ave., Colliers.

It is a Christian-based band consisting of youngsters and adults ranging in age from 9 to 50-plus. It is based in Richmond and is directed by Shelly Irvine.

The concert will be outdoors so those attending are asked to bring a lawn chair.

Refreshments and fellowship will follow the performance.

Finley to hold annual youth revival

Finley United Methodist Church, 958 Lincoln Ave., will hold its annual youth revival using the theme "Youth Revolution 2010" Sunday through Wednesday. Sunday services are 8:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the church. Monday through Wednesday services will be at 7 p.m. at the church's ministry center at 128 Raynes Road in Mingo Junction.

The youth evangelist will be the Rev. Aaron Duvall, campus pastor at Ohio Christian University in Circleville. He also has spoken at several summer teen camps, including Hollow Rock in 2009.

The worship leader will be Andrew Berg from River Tree Christian Church in Portage. He also leads the worship for the Christian Youth Festival at Malone College. The Asbury Ministry Team will assist with the services.

An offering will be taken for the evangelist and worship leader.

Truth Baptist to have tent meeting

Truth Baptist Church of Steubenville will hold an old-fashioned gospel tent meeting Monday through Friday in a tent set up on Lincoln Avenue, across from Beatty Park. Services will begin at 7 p.m. with a different preacher speaking each night. No offerings will be collected.

Greater Zion talent show Sunday

Greater Zion Temple Church will present a talent show with the theme "Sending Up Praises" Sunday at 4 p.m at the church.

It will feature solos, praise dances, mimes, poem reading and mini talks. Phyllis Freeman is president and Tyrone Thomas, vice president.

Church to have Strawberry festival

Irondale United Methodist Church will hold its annual Strawberry festival Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the church.

The menu will include hot turkey sandwiches, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, salads, baked beans and desserts. Donations will be accepted ,and carryout will be available.

Chapel covered-dish lunch planned

Rush Run Community Chapel will hold a covered-dish lunch after morning worship Sunday to honor seniors from Buckeye Local High School and persons having birthdays and anniversaries in June.

Deanery to meet in Wintersville

Mother of Hope Deanery will hold its quarterly meeting at 2 p.m. June 13 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Wintersville.
