WEIRTON - Saint Joseph the Worker Church was the setting for the May 23 wedding that united Lia Porco and Robert Gancas in marriage. The ceremony was celebrated by the Rev. Dean Borgmeyer.
The bride is the daughter of Carmine and Loredana Porco of Weirton. She was escorted to the altar by her father.
Lorraine Tost, sister of the bride, served as the matron of honor. Elizabeth Gancas, daughter of the groom, served as the bridesmaid.

The groom is the son of Ronald and Marjorie Gancas of Plum Borough, Pa.
Stephen Mooradian served as the best man. Jonathan Gancas, nephew of the groom, served as the usher.
After a reception at Williams Country Club, the newlyweds took a wedding trip to Paris, France.
The bride is a graduate of Madonna High School. She received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from West Virginia University. She also received a master's degree from Carnegie Mellon Tepper School of Business. She is employed at H.J. Heinz Co. in Pittsburgh.
The groom is a graduate of Plum High School. He received a bachelor's degree in computer science from Pennsylvania State University.
He is a captain in the Navy Reserves and is employed at UPMC in Pittsburgh.
The couple reside in South Fayette Township.
