Dorothy ‘Dort’ Devore

DEVORE, Dorothy "Dort," 84, of Mingo Junction (Tarr Hill), Ohio, passed away Tuesday Dec. 15, 2009, at her home.

She was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Belmont, Ohio, a daughter of the late Harvey and Amy (Duke) Hatcher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Devore on December 19, 2003; an infant son, Charles "Chuckie" Devore; three brothers, Warren Hatcher, Russell Hatcher and Ray Hatcher, Sr.; and two sisters, Mary Summers and Martha Still.

Dorothy was a home maker and Methodist by Faith. Dorothy loved spending time with her children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are three sons, Ronald Devore of Mingo, Donald Devore of Urichsville, Ohio and Nicholas Devore of Mingo; three daughters, Barbara LaCross if Yorkville, Ohio, Sally Leasure of Mingo and Debra Yamber of Burgetstown, Pa.; a sister, Hazel Pancoast of Pennsylvania.; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

In following with Dorothy's wishes private services and burial will be held at New Alexandria Cemetery.
