Regional roundupDecember 5, 2009Boil order issued for state Route 150 WINTERSVILLE - The Jefferson County Water and Sewer District has issued a boil order for customers on state Route 150, including Connorsville, Wearington and Adams Lane; township Road 111, county Roads 1 and 14 and Glen Robbins. Customers of Jackson Heights aren't affected by the order, officials said. November vehicle sales drop locally STEUBENVILLE - The number of vehicles sold and titled in Jefferson County continued to drop in November. The 360 vehicles sold and titled in the county in November is one-half the total for April 2008. The Jefferson County Clerk of Courts office reported the number of used cars sold and titled in the county accounted for a large chunk of the decrease. There were 248 used cars sold and titled in the county in November. The total was 324 in October, and the monthly average since January 2008 is 407. New car sales have held steady for the past three months. There were 68 new cars sold and titled in the county in November, the same amount as October. Only one new pickup truck was sold and titled in the county in November, while there were 43 used pickup trucks sold and titled in Jefferson County. There were 52 motorcycles sold and titled in the county in November, just two under the monthly average since January 2008. A total of 46 ATVs were sold and titled in Jefferson County, above the monthly average since January 2008. Couple charged with child abuse STEUBENVILLE -A couple was charged Friday with child endangering after a boy was brought Thursday afternoon to Trinity Medical Center West for treatment of bruises located all over his body, said Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla. Frederick A. Black, 37, of county Road 56, Toronto, was charged with a felony count of child endangering. His girlfriend, Eva Antonia, also of county Road 56, Toronto, and the mother of the child, was charged with misdemeanor child endangering. Church plans Advent service STEUBENVILLE - Starkdale Presbyterian Church, 4600 Sunset Blvd., will hold an Evening of Praise with an emphasis on Advent Sunday at 7 p.m. The service will be led by Denise Miller, Carolyn Glaub and the Rev.
