QUICK TAKESNovember 29, 2009MANAGER: The West Liberty University Foundation has announced the hiring of a new administrative manager, Judith Hennen. She is a graduate of West Liberty and earned a graduate degree from West Virginia University. She and her husband, John, helped establish the Brooke Hills Playhouse at Brooke Hills Park. She has taught in Charleston and lived and worked in New York City prior to her return to West Liberty. Donations to the West Liberty University Foundation enable the university to provide scholarship support. strengthen athletic programs, enhance faculty and academic development, fund faculty and student research programs, campus improvements and more. "West Liberty University Foundation has supported the University through many accomplishments over the years," Hennen said. "In May of this year, West Liberty State College became West Liberty University. This rich tradition and sense of pride continue to take the school, 'from a good college to a great university' and to provide a high quality of education at a price that is affordable." EGCC HONOR: Julius "Jay" Dziewatkoski was named October employee of the month at Eastern Gateway Community College. Dziewatkoski is director of building and grounds. He joined the college as assistant director of building and grounds in 1991and was promoted to director in 1997. Dziewatkoski earned an associate of appliedscience degree from college, majoring in electrical engineering technology. JOINING FIRM: Bryan Treglia, a Mingo Junction native, will join the Phoenix office of the law firm Quarles & Brady as an attorney in the intellectual property group. Treglia earned his bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering in 1997 from the University of Cincinnati. He subsequently worked in various engineering and management positions at Intel Corp. until 2007. Bryan earned his law degree from Arizona State University in 2009 where he graduated cum laude and served as executive editor of Jurimetrics, the Journal of Law, Science, and Technology. He passed the Arizona bar exam in July and is a registered patent agent. Treglia, a graduate of Catholic Central High School, resides in Chandler, Ariz., with his wife and three daughters. He is the son of Ed and Estelle Treglia of Mingo Junction. INVESTMENT PLAN: The Jefferson County Community Investment Plan was delivered to the Ohio Department of Development a year ago. An update on progress in enacting concepts from the plan will be held Tuesday at noon at the Pugliese Training Center of Eastern Gateway Community College. The plan implementation team includes John Brown, executive director of the Brooke-Hancock-Jefferson Metropolitan Planning Commission; Domenick Mucci, Jefferson County Regional Planning Commission executive; Irene Moore, Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District executive; Beth Wood, executive director of the Steubenville Convention and Visitors Bureau; Andrea Bell, director of workforce and community outreach at Eastern Gateway Community College ; Tracee Joltes, assistant director of workforce and community outreach at Eastern Gateway; Jason Mayberry, advertising director of the Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times; Sue Hershey, Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce executive; Sevy Petras of Lamplight Communities; Ed Looman, Progress Alliance executive; Jefferson County Commissioner Tom Gentile and Gary Folden of the Jefferson County Air Park.
