Elizabeth NagyNovember 28, 2009NAGY, Elizabeth "Betty" Barrett McGuire, 80, formerly of Mingo Junction, passed away Monday, November 23, 2009. She was born June 15, 1929, daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude Barrett McGuire. She attended St. Agnes School in Mingo Junction, and was graduated from Steubenville Catholic Central High School in 1947. Betty also served as past president of the Catholic Women's Club of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Brilliant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Sam McGuire. She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Donald J. Nagy Sr. of Tuscon, Ariz., and their six children, also of Tuscon: Donald J. Nagy Jr., Beth Nagy, Luke Nagy, Stephen C. Nagy, Bridget (Michael) Terribile, and Gabriel (Kate) Nagy; and grandchildren, Seth M. Nagy of Honolulu, Hawaii, Ana Vasich of Mingo Junction, Lukenzie Nagy of Dillonvale and Gertrude Terribile of Tuscon. In addition, Betty leaves behind her sister, Mary Ellen McGuire (Tom) Murphy, mother of nine, of Mingo Junction; and a niece and nephew, Leanne McGuire (Scott) Hutton of Brilliant and Robert P. (Denise) McGuire II of Rush Run, Ohio, as well as dozens of grandnieces and grandnephews. Her funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday, December 2 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church at 10 a.m. Rosary immediately preceding Mass. |
