Luis Bruno

BRUNO, Luis, 57, of Weirton, passed away Monday, November 23, 2009, at his home with his loving wife, son and family by his side.

Born December 3, 1951, in Belmonte Calabro, Italy, he was a son of Innocenza Porco Bruno of Weirton and the late Giuseppe Bruno. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Anthony.

Luis retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a millwright in the Hot Mill Department. He also worked for Horsehead Corporation and Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Being very artistic, Luis enjoyed carving knives and loved painting for his family and friends. He was a true Steeler fan.

In addition to his mother, Luis is survived by his wife, Gerry Harris Bruno; son, Lance Luis Bruno; brother, Frank Bruno and sister, Theresa McCombs and her husband, Harold, all of Weirton.

Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church.

The family requests that friends meet at the church for the 9:30 a.m. services. The Rev. Fr. Dean Borgmeyer will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
