The bus will leave Toronto at 10 a.m. on Dec. 16 and will return about 6:30 p.m. The cost is $4 with a minimum of 15 riders. Those interested should call Dolly Colvin at (740) 537-3384 by Dec. 9.
Toronto Eastern Stars meet
The Toronto Chapter 215 of the Eastern Stars opened after members enjoyed a Thanksgiving Day feast. Solina Marrero, worthy matron, welcomed the 25 members and shared a poem entitled "It Just Takes One Autumn Day."
The communications were read, and the treasurer's report was given. Ruth Cottis reported on the Avon sale and presented the chapter with a check. Dorothy Newbold gave a report on the bake sale and presented her check.
Marrero said the Gold Canyon candle sale has begun. Anyone wanting to buy candles may order them from any Toronto Eastern Stars member.
Sally Porter, who had been sending out greeting cards, passed that responsibility on to Paula Johns. The Eastern Stars will be ringing bells for the Salvation Army on Saturday. Any member who hasn't volunteered should contact Mark Yocum and see if there are any time slots available.
The next meeting will be Dec. 7, and members all voted to bring a gift for a child instead of the usual gift exchange.
