George Merriman

MERRIMAN, George R., 37, of Steubenville died Thursday, November 19, 2009, at home.

He was born March 1, 1972, in Steubenville. He is the son of Robert V. and Cheryl M. Miro Merriman of Piney Fork. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Floyd Robert Merriman.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Jodi Schultz Merriman whom he married, July 12, 2000, one son, Luke D. Merriman at home, two daughters, Alyssa L. and Isabella M. Merriman both at home, one brother, Robert (Colleen) Merriman of Wintersville, one sister, Barbara DiCenzo (Danny), of Yorkville, his in-laws, David W. and Donna J. Schultz of Steubenville, five nieces and nephews, Michael, Matthew, and Christopher DiCenzo, and Emily and Josh Merriman; sister-in-law, Kara Schultz of Steubenville.

He was a Jefferson County sheriff's deputy, a member of the Pine Valley Sportsmans Club, Rocky Road Gym and was a graduate of Buckeye Local High School Class of 1991.

Calling hours are Saturday 6-8 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home Sunset Chapel where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday with Father Daniel Heusel as officiant. Burial in Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
