Robert DeLeonardis

DeLEONARDIS, Robert J., 85, of Steubenville, died Thursday, November 19, 2009, at home.

He was born January 30, 1924, in Steubenville. He is a son of the late Justine and Mary Daverio DeLeonardis.

Robert was the retired former owner of the Spot Bar and Smokehouse and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, American Legion Argonne Post 33, Theta Chi Alpha and was an Army World War II veteran.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant brother and sister.

Surviving are his wife, Helen D. Gober DeLeonardis, whom he married August 24, 1950; one son, Robert A. DeLeonardis, of Steubenville; four daughters, Darcy Bobbera (John) of Las Vegas, Debbie Copeland (Jeff) of Bloomingdale, Darlene Powell (Andy) and Doreen Dumbola (John), both of Steubenville; two brothers, William DeLeonardis of Wintersville and Arthur (Kathleen "Tootsie") of Steubenville; two grandchildren, Robert and Cara Copeland; and one stepgrandson, Justin Dumbola.

Calling hours are Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Monday 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, with Msgr. Gerald Calovini as celebrant. There will be a vigil service Sunday at 6 p.m. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
