MCCARTNEY, Clarence W. "Bill", 62, of Bloomingdale died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, in Trinity West ER.
He was born March 3, 1947, in Parkersburg, W.Va.
He is the son of the late Clarence J. and Edna Berneda Byers McCartney.
Bill was a member of Kolmont Community Church and worked at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Coke Plant for 31 years.
Bill is also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Roger Lee McCartney; and one sister, Mary Geneva McCartney.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Cox McCartney, whom he married September 2, 1984; two sons, Richard E. (Laura Lee) McCartney of Steubenville, and David Rudder of Wellsville; five daughters, Billie Jo McCartney of Steubenville, April Mae Peterman (Richard) of Columbus, Melissa Ortman of Steubenville, Angela Nixon (Jim) of Steubenville, Nicol Bowen (Mike) of East Liverpool; three brothers, Gene McCartney (Eva) and Larry McCartney both of Cadiz, Michael Byers of Parkersburg; three sisters, Linda Kay Reese (Jack) of Wintersville, Lotie Mae Kline of Parkersburg, and Freda Lisa Davis of Cadiz; 13 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren and his ex-wife, Helen Jean McCartney of Columbus, Ohio.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Mosti Funeral Home Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, and on Friday at Kolmont Community Church, Mingo Junction, from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Sam Retzer, officiant.
Burial in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens.
