WHITE, Kristina R. "Kristie" (Cortez), 39, of Steubenville, passed away Friday Oct. 9, 2009, at her home.
Kristie was born on Oct. 31, 1969, in Steubenville, Ohio.
She was a 1988 graduate of Steubenville Big Red High School and attended Capital University and Columbus State University, where she received a B.A. degree in financial management. She went back to further her career at Franciscan University.
She was a former employee of Sky Bank. Kristie was a former Little Miss Ohio Twirler and a holder of over two thousand awards.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Wilmont Scheible and John "Ta" Cortez.
Surviving Kristie is her husband Eric White of Steubenville; her two sons, Jordan Quinn and Zachary Burch; step-children Eric Michael White, Derek White and Jonathan White; her father, Richard J. and wife Elizabeth Cortez of Steubenville; her mother, Deborah Phillippi and her husband D. James Phillippi of Toronto; her brother, John Cortez and his wife Amy and their children Ariel and Jonathan of Hopedale; grandmother, Alma Cortez of Steubenville; uncles, Guy Cortez of Steubenville and Dave Cortez of Columbus; grandmother Nancy Scheible of Steubenville; uncle, Jim Scheible of Calif., cousins Joey Scheible and Carrissa Wright, both of Calif; step-sisters Jami Montgomery and husband Dale of Newark, Ohio, and Tami Phillippi and husband Steve Van Kevren and nephew Luke all of Pittsburgh; nephews, Aaron and Philip Hilt and their father Jeff all of Richmond, Ohio; former husband Michael Quinn and wife Rhonda of Mingo Junction.
Friends and family may call on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the J. E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 701 Findley St., Toronto. Kristie's life celebration service will follow calling hours at 8 p.m. Sunday evening.
Burial will be at the convenience of her family.
