Michael P. Cacic

CACIC, Michael P., 92, of Weirton, W.Va., died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, in Brightwood Center, Follansbee, W.Va.

He was born January 5, 1917, in Youngwood, Pa., son of the late Nick and Mary Churuvia Cacic.

He was a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served as a Master Sergeant in WWII.

He was a member of the 25-Year Club of Weirton Steel Company where he retired from the Open Hearth and B.O.P.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Pievach Cacic on March 15, 2007.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Nick, George, and James Cacic; and four sisters, Dorothy Pushnick, Bea McCurdy, Ann Cacic, and Sophie Moncilovich.

He is survived by a son, Michael Anthony Cacic (Christine), of Ft. Washington, Md.; two daughters, Marianne Turkal, of Weirton, W.Va., and Donna Marie Cacic, of Weirton; four grandchildren, Joshua and Zachary Turkal, and Aleksandra and Arianna Cacic; and three great- grandchildren, Diva, Iona, and Sadie Turkal.

Friends will be received from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV, where services will be held 10 a.m. Monday July 27, 2009, with the Very Rev. Rade Merick officiating.

A Pomen Service will be held 7:45 p.m. Sunday.

Burial will be at Serbian Cemetery.
