May 26, 2009 - From staff reports

CHESTER - A Hookstown man was pronounced dead after a two-vehicle collision Monday evening on U.S. Route 30 near the Pennsylvania state line.

Michael J. Tangora was taken by ambulance to East Liverpool City Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a press release issued early today by Hancock County Sheriff Mike White.

According to the press release, the head-on collision occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. Monday.

White said two people involved in the accident, Anita Bentz and Glenn Robert Krugle III, both of Monaca, were transported by helicopter to Pittsburgh area hospitals for injuries sustained in the accident.

Initial reports indicated a truck was traveling eastbound on the highway at a high rate of speed and allegedly crossed the center line and struck a car head on.
