Leona F. Hood
HOOD, Leona F. (Warner) 70, of Toronto, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2009, in the Trinity West Medical Center in Steubenville following a battle with cancer.
Leona was born on July 27, 1938, in Carrollton, Ohio, daughter of the late Stephen and Bertha (Arbogast) Warner.
Leona was previously employed by Scio Pottery. She was also a homemaker and avid quilter, seamstress and gardener.
In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by four brothers, Forrest Warner, Bennie Warner, who was killed in the Korean Conflict, and two brothers who died in infancy.
Leona is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Ronald Hood; three daughters, Lori (Wesley) Sanford of Penns Creek, Pa., Rhonda (Ron) Parsons of Barberton, Ohio, and Tammy (Randy) Clark of Wellsburg, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Daniel, David and Derek Sanford, Nathaniel, Caleb, and Seth Parsons, Luke and Katelyn Clark; three sisters, Dorothy Ford of Amsterdam, Ohio, Shirley (John) Ziklo of Amsterdam, Ohio, and Carol Peters of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Boyd (Mary) Warner of Cleveland, Ohio, and Lee (Sue) Warner of Robertsville, Ohio.
Visitation for Leona will be held on Friday, May 1, 2009, from 6-9 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, Ohio.
Leona's funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Roger Burdick officiating.
Burial will follow in Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto. www.jefosterfh. com
