Red Knights stop Irish
From staff reportsBELLAIRE - The Toronto baseball picked up its 15th win of the season in lopsided fashion, Monday, downing Bellaire St. John, 28-4, on the road.
The Red Knights came up with 24 hits and scored six runs in the first, 10 in the second, six more in the third, two in the fourth and four in the fifth.
Dave Porter was the biggest hitter of the day. He homered twice, including a grand slam, and singled to finish with six RBI. Jordan Cooper drove in five runs with two singles and two doubles.
Mike Garman, Mike Radvansky and Caleb Zeigler each batted in four runs. Radvansky had three base hits, Ziegler has a single and two doubles and Garman singled and doubled.
Mike Ludewig added four base hits, Chase Takacs registered two hits and an RBI, Brent Scott and Trevor Cooper each had an RBI single and freshman Spencer Sninchak came up with a base hit.
On the mound, Jordan Cooper earned the win six strikeouts and two walks. Sninchak pitched in relief, fanning two and walking one.
Toronto (15-2) will play today at Indian Creek.

Errors cost Panthers
RAYLAND - Errors proved costly for Buckeye Local baseball as the Panthers committed seven in a 10-7 loss to Martins Ferry at home Monday.
The Panthers belted out 10 hits and allowed no walks from the mound, but struggled in the field as the Purple Riders were on top from start to finish. Buckeye Local scored all its runs late in the game, scoring two in the fifth and five in the sixth.
Bobby Spence took the loss with one strikeout. Justin Sutphin fanned four in relief.
At the plate for the Panthers, Derek Supanik had two doubled and two RBI. Brandon Bartrug doubled twice, Brandon Barkoski and Sutphin each singled to drive in two runs, while Josiah Hannen added an RBI single.
Dane Kock with six strikeouts and two walks, earned the win. He led the Riders offensively with two hits and three RBI.
The Panthers fell to 7-10 and get a rematch with the Riders Wednesday at Martins Ferry.

'Cats stop Redskins
RICHMOND - Indian Creek and Edison combined for 11 errors with the Redskins recording just one more than their rivals, as the Wildcats won a not-so-pretty baseball game, 11-8, at Jefferson Lake, Monday.
Edison was able to offset its errors with 17 hits. The offensive eruption put the Wildcats on top early and they never looked back, leading 7-0 after four innings.
Indian Creek's hitters sprang to life in the later innings, as the Redskins scored all their runs in the fifth and sixth and loaded the bases with two outs in the seventh.
The Wildcats brought in Jett Bernhart to close when the Redskins juiced the bases in the final frame. He struck out the next batter to seal the deal.
Every Wildcat chipped in offensively. Nick Davidson tripled and had two base hits. Jarred Falasca, the winning pitcher with three strikeouts and four walks, had three hits and an RBI. Jeremy Matics added a base hit with two RBI. Derek Trifonoff chipped in with two hits and an RBI.
Robert Spring singled and doubled, Nate Spears doubled and singled twice. Cale McCoy and Jonathan Byers each had an RBI single and T.J. Mack had a base hit.
Indian Creek's Daniel Dunlevy took the loss with three strikeouts and one walk. At the plate, Austin Greco had three hits and an RBI. Dustin Freshwater had two hits and an RBI. Tim Newburn doubled to plate a run, Michael Wayt had two hits, and James Watson had an RBI single.
Edison is now 12-6 and faces the Redskins again on Thursday at Muth Field.

JM sweeps Bears
NEW MANCHESTER - Three John Marshall pitchers held Oak Glen two four hits over 11 innings on Monday as the Monarchs went home with a doubleheader sweep, 12-2 and 15-4.
Ryan Lewicki started and won the first game. He added a single, double and a home run for three RBI. He added two doubles and a pair of RBI in the second win. John Marshall hit five home runs on the afternoon.
