It's a sign of spring when the Steubenville Art Association announces plans for its annual Spring Regional Exhibit. This year's exhibit featuring outstanding area artistic talent will be held May 3 through May 9 at Jefferson Community College.
Weekday hours will be 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, noon to 4 p.m.
Association members will receive entries April 3 from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and April 4 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Judging day will be April 4.
The opening reception will be held May 3 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with the awards ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Best of show, merit, honorable mention, special and purchase awards will be presented.
Artistst 18 years or older can enter up to three works. The entry fee for association members is$20 for up to three works. Non-members fee is $25. Entry fees will not be refunded.
All work must be original, and the work must be created by the artist who signs it. Work must have been done within the last two years and must be framed, wired and ready for hanging.
No sawtooth hangers are allowed.
Works should not exceed 48-by-48 inches, including frame, and there is a 50-pound weight limit.
The media are oil watercolor, acrylic, pen and ink, colored pencil, stained glass, charcoal, pencil, batik, sculpture, pastel, mixed medium, mosaic and pottery. No ceramics from molds is permitted.
All work must be hand-delivered to JCC with a completed entry form.

Lunch with the Easter Bunny set
Lunch with the Easter Bunny will be held March 28 from noon to 2 p.m. at Buckeye Local High School.
Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
Lunch is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Pictures with the Bunny are $5 and will be printed instantly. There also will be a petting zoo, drawings and an Easter egg hunt.
Sponsors include Girl Scout Daisy Troop 8005 and Buckeye Local High School.
Post to Honor WWII Army veterans
Wintersville American Legion Post 557 will honor six U.S. Army WWII vets at a special awards ceremony Monday at 6:45 p.m. at the post on Two Ridges Road.
Jim Metcalf, post adjutant, and Mayor Robert Gale will present Freedom Team Salute Commendations to the honorees.
The ceremony is open to the public.
Wells volunteers to host fundraiser
A homemade Italian ravioli and lasagna dinner will be hosted by volunteers of the Wells Township Haunted House from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 28 at the Brilliant Community Center.
The menu will be made using authentic Italian recipes and includes a choice of homemade lasagna or cheese ravioli, garden or Caesar salad, an assortment of desserts and coffee or iced tea.
Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children under 12 years old. Carryouts and delivery to Brilliant and township residents will be available.

The dinner will serve as a fundraiser for the youth-based Wells Township Haunted House event.
St. Agnes Church service today
St. Agnes Church in Mingo Junction will hold an Ecumenical Service today at 7 p.m. The Rev. Father James Dunfee will be the speaker.
A reception will follow in the church hall hosted by St. Agnes Catholic Woman's Club. The service is open to the public.
Sycamore food sale Thursday
Sycamore Tree Workday Soup and Sandwich Sale will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wedding, green pepper, traditional or Southwest chili will be available by the bowl for $2.50 or a cup, $1.50. Hot turkey sandwich or sloppy joes are $2, hot dogs, $1, desserts and beverages, 50 cents.
