Starting Over marks third year

WEIRTON - Seventy-two members of Starting Over, a group for widows and widowers, celebrated their third anniversary with the crowning of a new queen and gifts for each member at the November meeting held at Undo's.

Nancy Smurda was crowned queen for the day by Holly Miller, king. They each received a gift certificate from Undo's.

Veterans and November birthdays were recognized.

Fred Vogt led prayer.

Jack Giacomel of Burgettstown provided dinner music. Gift cards were prepared by Mary Sue Hodovanic.

Hosts coordinating the "getting to know you table" using Thanksgiving theme were Margaret Chapman, Betty Ann Jeffries, Helen Parrish, Delores Proakis, Ruth Santangelo and Smurda.

New members attending were Ed Cusick, Tom Heaton, Ruth Jackson, Elweyn Skinner, Lola Swanagan Wright and Eileen Warfield.

Fifty-fifty drawing winners were Becky Michalka and Lucretia "Toots" Ross.

Reports were given by Madeline Michael and Alberta Miller.

The next meeting will be Dec. 14. Reservations are to be made by Dec. 6 by calling Miller at (740) 282-5212 or Michael at 264-6930.

Members are asked to bring a Christmas card for exchange.
