WEIRTON - The Silent Messenger, a mime group from Memorial Baptist Church, presented the program when the GFWC Weirton Woman's Club held its October meeting at the Masonic Temple Annex Building.
Delores Azzarello welcomed members and guests. Helen Brancazio gave the invocation, and Diane Pastoric introduced the program for the evening.
The 10 young people performed mime to religious songs. Sharon Davis, a group member, described its mission and ministry.
JoEllen Wright read the call to the Northern District convention.
Pastoric, membership chairman, gave an orientation of the club for the invited guests. They were then treated to a pumpkin tea. The guests were Kathy Kendrick, Mary Lou James, Adalgisa D'Amico, Rita Orler, Lea Shirer, Terrie Fisher, Darlene Ballas, Despina Melonas, Melissa Coulter, Cheryl Guyman and Argiro Lautosakis.

Art, Sharon Neeley reported on the Nov. 1 Holiday Craft Festival to be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
Garden, Helen Brancazio said the October meeting will feature Roger Van Horn, master gardener.
Literary, Carol Village reported the October meeting will be a Mystery Mix with members contributing.
Sandra Robbins, GFWC state project and home life chairman, reported on Camp Mountain Heart and the recent blood analysis held by the BPW.
Dody Cronin, public affairs chairman, reviewed Operation Christmas Stockings for soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Reports also were given by Barbara Raynolds, courtesy chairman; Diana Durst, program chairman, who said the drama committee will perform at the November meeting; Jane McCoy, hospitality chairman, who said Agnes Monezis will be the hostess chairman for November; Bonnie Nichols, drama committee chairman, who said the new show is called Four Fabulous Females and their Music; and Carol Village, GFWC Women's History chairman, on her display of first ladies at Mary H Weir Public Library.
Shirlee Baltich, fundraising chairman, reported on the annual style show, "Glitz and Glamour," the main fundraiser for the general club. This year's show will be held Nov. 9 at the Serbian American Culture Center. The show begins at 2 p.m., but the doors will open at 12:30 p.m. for pre-show shopping. Fashions featured will be from Anna Kay's Unique Fashions Boutique from Steubenville. The tickets cost $25, and Alex Melonas, 797-0155, is in charge of reservations and drawing tickets.
Sandra Robbins is co-chairman of the style show. Kendra Keller and Sharon Neeley are in charge of decorations.
Azzarello announced the $1,000 GFWC WV Scholarship Fund award is available for a man or woman who is a U.S. citizen and has resided in West Virginia for the last three years. Applicants must attend an accredited West Virginia college, professional, vocational, or technical school and be a full-time student. To apply, contact Azzarello, at (304) 723- 0954.
