Citywide garage sale set for Saturday, Sunday

October 3, 2008 - By MARK J. MILLER, Staff writer

TORONTO - A citywide yard sale is set Saturday and Sunday at various businesses, organizations and residences.

The sale, which is to run from the morning to early afternoon, will include up to 40 residences selling "everything under the sun," and it is being organized by city resident Wendy Coghe.

"I know I'm going to have at least 40 (residences) participating," said Coghe. "I also will have two businesses participating, including Miss Ladybug's Candles and Gifts, 218 N. Fourth St., and Cathy's Place, 220 N. Fourth St.

"Some people are going to (have the sale) just one day," continued Coghe. "The Toronto Eagles are going to have a soup and bake sale at the aerie at 112 N. Fifth St. from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday."

Coghe, who is calling the sale a semi-annual event, said maps showing the locations of residences participating will be available at Stacey's IGA, the city Municipal Building and the Special Way grocery store.

"Maps also will be available by visiting 631 N. Fourth St. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday," added Coghe. "There will be everything for sale, including kitchen (wares), seasonal crafts, books, tools - you name it."

Those wishing to participate can call Coghe at (740) 537-3271 after 4 p.m. or leave a message before 4 p.m.
