Verna Reynard installed by salon 807
Le Petite Boutique Salon 807 of the 8 and 40 of Jefferson County held its installation banquet at American Legion Post 573 in Brilliant.
Gloria Verbeke, departmentale demi chapeau of the 8 and 40, was a special guest and conducted the installation.
New leaders are Verna Reynard, chapeau; Ellen Hunt, premier; Thelma Bronson, deuxieme; Carmen A. Frye, l'archiviste; Barbara Jackson, l'aumonier; Rose Dillingham, l'concierge; Lorraine Hazlett, l'cassiere; Sharon Morris, l'secretaire; and Frye, pouvoir.
Awards were presented to Frye for best history, first place; Hazlett, certificate for nurses scholarship; partnership certificate, second place, Ruth Sterling; most original parodies, first place, Frye and Ellen Hunt; la concierge certificate to Dillingham for a report; certificate for prayer scrapbook Mamie Bucci. The salon also received the Karen Strong Award for donating to all programs.
Other special guests were Galen Houser of the 40 and 8, Verbeke's escort; Karen Peel, departmentale caissiere; Shirley Legg, past chapeau, who serves as pouvoir; Robert Keyser, chef de gare of the Jefferson County 40a and 8; and Judy Brown, 10th District past president.
Brown installed Hazelett as first vice president of Unit 557 and Frye as historian of Unit 33.
A special drawing was held for the general fund and Bob Keyser won a tin flag.
The next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 21 at Steven Christian Post 557 in Wintersville with Wintersville members as hostesses.
