Butterfly ceremony planned
By MARIAN HOUSER, Community editorPersons who have lost loved ones are invited to come together to remember those who have died in a Sept. 10 ceremony in which dozens of butterflies are released into the gardens, according to Carole Tarr, bereavement director at Valley Hospice.
Butterflies indigenous to the area are provided by Butterflies by Heather of Wellsburg, she said.
The ceremony will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, Wintersville, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
It will be hospice's first event in Wintersville.
Tarr said special music and recitations will be included in the memorial.
A ceremony also will be held in Wheeling.
"We encourage not only family members, but friends of those who have died, to join us in these meaningful evenings," Tarr said.

Swick to dance
Those who attend the Nimble Thimble Club's "Dancing with the Stars" tonight at Froehlich's Classic Corner, can see the talents of Andrea Swick of Richmond, who recently attended a workshop conducted by Peter Sklar, producer and lecturer.
Tonight's event begins at 7 p.m., and tickets will be available at the door.
Choir to sing
Emmanuel Nu Birth Choir of Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, 128 St. Fifth St., will be in concert Saturday at 7 p.m.
The theme for the concert is "I Want to See His Face," a song written by the director of the choir, Vanessa Palmer.
Th song is the title song of the group's first CD.
Patrick Piper of Richmond, Ind., is the guest minister of music.
He will work with the choir and play keyboard with the Emmanuel Nu Birth Band.
Guests from Ashtabula will sing with the choir, and evangelist Latonya Jackson of Ashtabula will direct.
Angie Suggs of will be mistress of ceremony.
Management club
The Weirton Steel Management Club will meet Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Gio's Family Restaurant
Dinner and a social will be held.
Alumni association
Steubenville High School Alumni Association will hold its monthly meeting Monday at Froehlich's Classic Corner at 6 p.m.
The 2009 all-class reunion will be discussed.
