I have an absolute dream job

It had to happen sometime, but boy, am I starting to feel tired.

Working full time, coupled with being a tutor, a brother, a son, a best man and a groom-to-be, is beginning to take its toll. In my world, there are only 26 hours in a day, and it feels like they are all constantly full.

What makes my situation all the better is that I have a dream job, literally.

Once a week for at least the past two months, Iáve dreamt about my time here in the newspaper office. In recent years, I used to make pepperoni rolls and push ice while I slept. Some people think this is normal, others believe itás unhealthy. Me, I think of it as a lesson in diligence.

In concerns to my position with this newspaper, I am forced to pay more attention to everything I type to make sure they are the stories that âAwake Gioã covered. My supervisors can tell the mornings following my work dreams because those are the only days they donát have to correct me.

Back in my pizza days, I would actually dream about complaint phone calls. Believe it or not, this was helpful. See, every consumer has the potential and the right to complain. Having the dream argument ahead of time actually allowed me to say everything I wanted to say then, then be prepared and have a reasonable discussion at the time of the actual incident in the future.

Maybe Iám just crazy. Maybe Iám goal oriented. Maybe Iám a very limited prophet.

In any instance, I donát believe I could handle my âdream jobsã and my actual jobs if they werenát something I really wanted to do. Iám convinced I am one of the lucky few who enjoys waking up in the morning — or falling asleep at night — to go to work.

If you wake up dreading your job, I encourage you to leave it. There are too many jobs out there filled by people who donát want them. You have to be excited to be proficient at your work. Get a job you like and you will not only be pleased with your own work, but will benefit the overall work force.

Do you like your job? How long have you been there? Ever dream about it? Have you ever seen Darth Vader out of his suit? Check out the enclosed photo and leave me some feedback on your dream jobs.
