Violet M. Leatherman

LEATHERMAN, Violet M., 74, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Toronto, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, in Lakeland.
She was born in Industry, Pa., on April 14, 1934, a daughter of the late Dent and Esther Beighey Hill.
Violet was retired from St. John Hospital, where she was a surgical instrument technician and was a member of Toronto American Legion Post 86 Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and a daughter.
She is survived by her husband, Morris Leatherman; daughters, Barbara Danner of Lakeland, Sandra Wilson and Rebecca Swickard of Richmond, Ohio; sons, John and Daniel Stewart of Lakeland, and Robert and Bill Stewart of Steubenville, Ohio; brothers, James and Thomas Hill of Unionport, Ohio, and Roy Hill of Katy, Texas; sister, Esther Gross of Unionport; stepson, Terry Leatherman of Dover, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, on Saturday from 6-8 p.m., and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Monday, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Deborah Kellar officiating.
Burial in Bloomingdale Cemetery.
American Legion Post 86 Auxiliary will conduct services on Sunday at 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
