I am confused. I thought it was a Rape case not consensual sex?

Teachers are require to report; right?

I do agree with this educator taking a lead into educating others about reporting; just hope the topic of "how to get out of reporting" doesn't come up.

As a Principal that probably should have been mentioned a t a staff meeting every year.

It probably is mentioned in every school in Ohio. Maybe not locally??

Loosie2011, sounds like you have something personal against Gorman. You're not biased at all, right?

On another note..... I know that stick is now pushed farther up her arse now more then ever....but...."McNamara said the duty to report only applies when he or she is serving in her official capacity and not when he or she receives information as a neighbor, friend or concerned parent. " I do know the "IN-CROWD" of teacher eat lunch together everyday.. are you going to tell me, nothing was said in their conversations that needed to be reported? I do think his statement is idiotic and just plain wrong...!!! If I were a principal or teacher , and I knew first hand knowledge or just through the grape-vine I would look into it and then report. EVEN if I was not at school . Just because she left the building for the day her job should no stop! she gets paid the money to take care of our children just like all teachers and yes it is a thank-less job at times but...you knew that going into it.

Leaving this scumbag principal Lynnett Gorman in her position is absolutely WRONG! It says all that needs to be said about the Steubenville School Board. They just don't get it. Rape Reporting and Drinking Parties should not be tolerated by anyone in a school position of leadership ever. I feel sorry for parents who have to deal with such a failed school system and pay taxes to support it.
