Here we go with another letter. There are no points made. The government is shutdown including the white house, national parks, and other federal facilities. They all should stop playing politics with the government. No agency should be more important than another. Stand your ground POTUS...This letter is pure bias politics.

Echobravo, there are points made if you actually read the letter. Politicians of both sides of the aisle would sell their own mother out and switch sides if it benefited them. The guys that are truly standing up are Rand Paul, and Cruz. Why? Because they stood for the people that sent them to Washington despite what everyone else says. If anything, nothing has changed with the shutdown. Something like 83% of government is still functional. Right there is 17% we've experienced that we do not need. It is also a great time to see what is dead weight. If a person is deemed "non-essential" why do they have a job in the first place? Take all "non-essential" employees and give them a pink slip, for good. Next, if there isn't services offered for those that pay the bill, those that don't pay bills should not get service. End welfare right now.

Most liberals are unaware that it is not the Republicans who shut the federal government down.

The house passed a bill fully funding everything, except ObamaCare, a program that the American citizens say they don't want, and even Obama, Reid, Pelosi, and others don't want for themselves.

The Democrats in the Senate shot it down, and prefered to shut the government down. Obama's first order of business was to block the WWII vets from visiting their memorial. He did not shut Camp David, by the way. Obama sent more folks to keep the WWII vets out than he sent to save the folks in Benghazi. Shameful.

Wake UP America!

Hagrid- YOU - The house passed a bill fully funding everything, except ObamaCare. The POTUS said no negotiation FROM THE START. Defend what you must...

For the person who feels qualified to deem someone nonessential, they should run for office. American will not get passports to travel, God forbid that there will not be a major airline crash that kills a few hundred people due to no Aviation Safety Inspectors. No new pilots/mechanics/airline companies, etc. Paul and Cruz are extremist. Texas AND Kentucky have the MOST UNINSURED people in the country. As far as the welfare thing..Preach on my Christian friend who will walk that fake fence with you.

EB, I read your post several times, trying to make sense of your rambling.

"Paul and Cruz are extremist."

Why? For not wanting to bankrupt our nation? Or, for not wanting to price most out of affording health care?

As far as debts and budgets go, if you look at it in a different way what the US government is doing does not make sense.

If a husband and wife make $1,500 bi-weekly and their bills come to $1,250 and they save $250, that is a functional, sustainable budget. If the same couple makes $1,500 and their bills come to $2,800 and they pay out all of their earning and put $1,300 on the credit card that is unsustainable. Echobravo, which model best fits what our government is doing right now? Is that model sustainable?

I understand, RPG0340. I guess I have a need to try to help those who base their beliefs of feelings, rumor, and outright lies. Remember, these people are allowed to vote. There is no requirement to prove one has read our Constitution, passed an intelligence test, or processes and understands FACTS. Heck, they don't even have to prove who they are, in many cases.

I have had success in awakening the under informed. It takes time, and an overwhelming exposure to facts, truth, and instructions on how to sift through the crap.

It also forces me to watch liberal TV to see what others are seeing, and process what I see and hear, and compare it to facts and reality. It often amazes me what these liberal comentators are willing to say, with no desire for backing with facts. They often rely solely on theories (Global Warming, 'Keynesian Economics), or FEELINGS, despite how reality disproves them.

I notice the HS did weigh in. What statistics did they get from the valley? Sounds like they just copied what's on fox like they usually do.

Again, like it or not ACA IS HERE...Period.

Sadly, when a commercial plane crashes and kills people, or a tanker crashes and burns a neighborhood, one will see what's essential.

YES, TEA BAGGERS are extremist and will take the country with them to get their way. We will default if they don't get their way. Maybe we need a high death/cost disaster in tea bagger's land and then we will see how cuts will off set spending (i.e. Oklahoma,Indiana, and other tea bag areas. They were mum on that when getting FEDERAL AID. All the clowns need to be voted out of office. How you push democracy to someone else when you have a corrupt democracy yourself.

EB, you failed to answer RPG0340's question, as you have mine.

Can you tell us why you find it so hard to do so?

The HS article quoted local folks. Can you explain why you attribue those local statements to Fox News? Can you provide a WORKABLE link where Fox News interviewed these locals?

"YES, TEA BAGGERS are extremist and will take the country with them to get their way. We will default if they don't get their way."

Apparently, despite proof to the contrary, that the Republicans in the House signed a bill that would completely take care of your plane crashes and tanker crashes, but your liberal Senate turned it down. So, why do you blame Tea Partiers?

Week 2: Media still can’t navigate ObamaCare exchanges

hotair(dot)com/archives/2013/10/08/week-2-media-still-cant-navigate-obamacare-exchanges/

"A week ago, MSNBC tried to get on line to demonstrate the effectiveness of ObamaCare exchanges, and ended up wasting 45 minutes or so going nowhere. As week 2 begins, after a humiliating weekend of having to pull down the federal system for fixes, the system still doesn’t work, as a reporter at a Georgia NBC affiliate discovers. And when she calls for assistance, she finds that the HHS call center can’t tell her when it will, after trying three times to get through (via Daniel Halper):"

This info comes from MSNBC and NBC, not Fox News. What say you now, EB?

There is no answer to an embedded talking point. NO POLITICIAN is will to cut off their money from special interest, thus the scenario is irrelevant. The government could a lot money if POLITICIANS were not getting their hands greased with hidden money from big business. Its obvious that everyone here has their mind made up as to our political system. Either America will succeed or fail at the rate things are going. Until it this plays out, we all have to sit back and see. Until then AVC IS THE LAW OF THE LAND and Obama has the final say. There is not disputing that.

Final post on this one....The ACA is the law and make sure you have coverage. Never know when you will need it. Either you are for it or against it.

WHAT IS DISRESPECTFUL IS THAT OUR MILITARY SOLDIER AND THEIR FAMILIES ARE VICTIMS TO THIS POLITICAL MESS. I may not agree with some of you and your views over your political issues, but this is just down right sickening for ALL POLITICAL PARTIES.

You forget that slavery, prohibition, and many, many other things were the LAW at one time, but no more. If ObamaCare servives this, it will be gone when the Repulicans take the Senate next year.

We understand why you can't answer our questions. To do so would force you to examine the FACTS, and your beliefs will not allow that.

If you would read the Herald Star more closely you would see that the paper gets most of its news articles from the Associate Press (AP)---a member of the Obama media!
