This is a wonderful plan! All Catholics and all the residents of our area should get fully behind this. A renovated Cathedral would be an expression of our faith in God and in our hope for the area. Let us not roll over and play dead but move ahead by working together and putting our trust in God!

Another thing is; the Priest at St. Marys in Marietta is probably the top Priest in the Diocese when it comes to getting it done.

Great track record. How can you pass this by? My Prayer is that this Bishop wise up and reconsider Marietta. Take the heat off of Steubenville.

Again I say; make St. Marys in Marietta the Cathedral. Its going to be a Basilica; its centrally located; the good people of Marietta already spent BIG bucks to renovate it; why keep dumping money into a community that is circling the drain.

Come on Bishop; smart move dropping the new place; but why send good oney after bad in Southside of Steubenville. Makes no dollars or sense.......LOL

With all due respect, those millions of dollars should be used to compensate victims of child abuse by local parish priests during the 60's, 70's and 80's. The abuse took place at churches and at CCHS. Spending money on the cathedral is nice but it would provide healing to the many vicitms of abuse in Steuvenville.
