Rob Portman has the Romney mentality. He cares about no one but the Richest Americans. His votes reflect his disdain for the middle class and poor.

Portman voted the way I wanted him to vote. I couldn't be any happier. Remember there is no such thing as a gun show loophole. You also notice that no one said how a private citizen was suppose to do a background check and how much it would cost. I can't say for certain but was told the check would cost over 100 dollars. Now if I wer selling a single shot .22 that only cost 50 dollars I am suppose to eat another 125 dollars or add it to the price? Get real Manchin and Toomey you two are an idiots. The Gun owners protection act of 1984 says I can legally sell,trade,give away or bequeath my personally owned fire arms. That was never repealed. Was M-T even legal? Stupid bill that never stood a chance to pass and become law. Won't get into how the 90% obumjob talked about was a lie.

I watched the whole process Thursday on C-Span. Manchin, Tommy or any of the Senators that were for the bill EVER said how the background checks were going to be done or paid for and then refused to answer questions about those points when asked. I figured they did not want us to know or were hiding something. So I guess if you read the entire bill, why don't you inform us oh great and powerful OZ

Fact sheets put out by Manchin Toomey? I wonder if the fact sheets tell the entire story. I'll bet not. You can bet they are hiding something like the fees. They are in there. Anyway why am I wasting my time with Core he would love to see confiscation and the US going to something like is being done in England and Australia. The bill didn't pass and probably never will. Tough luck gun grabbers. The 2nd amendment lives. Good job Portman Next step is to get gun grabbing Sherrod Brown out of office in 2016. The 90% was a lie also.

Poor boy he didn't get his way so now he is whining. M-T went down and Portman got my vote regardless of his reasons. Do you notice that the Libs are now against the 60 vote threshold but when conservatives controlled the Senate they loved it. Hypocrites.

M-T lost get over it

Core, the 90% support thing is an absolute lie. It is as big a lie as the 75% of Americans supporting obummacare. Obama ranting and raving in his rose garden address just shows that liberals love democracy until the vote does not go their way. The anti-2nd Amendment crowd try to peddle info, and statistics that are outright lies.

You don't get it! The president HID behind the Newtown tragedy. That person had to murder his own mother to gaet to her guns! THAT means those guns were NOT legally obaitned! Portman's vote was about protecting the Second Amendment an the entire Constitution! Law biding citzizens buy their guns legally- criminals don't! If you don't like guns - DON"T BUY ONE!

Not trying to fool anyone core you are just being foolish. Anyone can find out the votes 54 yea 46 no, IT DIDN'T PASS DID IT CORE? It needed 60 votes to overcome the filibuster. You can cry all you want that it got more yes votes but is still didn't pass. It lost core get over it. You have no point.

Now what I really think would be foolish is a person trying to clock some one with a gun who just showed his willingness to use it to protect himself. Now answer this one core. If the crook was standing over you with a gun at your head would you want the CCW holder to use his gun to save you? You do know that a CCW holder has no obligation to use his gun to save anyone but himself. Do you think I would save you core?

Why do you keep being foolish? you need to go back to civic class core. 60 to stop a filibuster and 66 to override a veto.

Read this ===

Those opposed to a bill coming up for a vote can prevent the vote simply by proposing and debating countless amendments to the bill. This strategy allows them the benefit of a filibuster without the risks associated with being seen as an obstructionist or with the physical and emotional strain of having to read continuously for days on end. The only way to stop the endless proposal and debate of amendments to a particular bill and bring it to an immediate vote is with a successful vote of cloture. For such a vote to be successful, it must be supported by three fifths of the seated Senators which currently would be 60.

It failed Core get over it. I could really care less how.

Core, would you "clock" a member of law enforcement for saving your behind or the behind of a family member with a firearm?

C'mon Core. You said that you'd clock an armed citizen after saving your, or a member of your family's life. What is the difference aside from wearing a badge and body armor? Just answer the question. What's wrong Core, did you suddenly lose the ability to spout off?

Mr. Core, would you punch a cop that just used a firearm to save you, or a family members life?

Did you read all 44 pages of the bill? Do you realize that a politically motivated doctor can have your rights revoked. Do you realize that there is no path to reinstatement? So, a person could lose a parent, grandparent, wife, son or daughter, get prescribed an antidepressant and lose their right to gun ownership. There is no way to get that right back. Face it Core, you are anti-gun. I think I know why too.
