I would have guessed the sheriff there would have been against the lynch mob that came in especially since he supposedly saw evidence of the girls initial texts. Now I suspect he has to play with Dewine and his grandstanding.

Of course it doesn't mean he isn't stupid or bigoted either.

RPG is wrong for the same reason you were right earlier. Don't defend his comment (which was a stupid one but that doesn't necessarily mean he is stupid) just because I disagree with it. Removing hats in doors is a cultural convention with no valid justification. His comments about turbans was just him being ignorantly bigoted. Which doesn't necessarily mean he's stupid or bigoted.

RPG has an excellent point. If one person is required has to uncover all should be required to do so, but this PC crap gets in the way.

Correct..If you notice now banks want all hats and sunglasses removed when you enter their building. Courtesy in the courthouse.

I have to agree with moteman on this one. RPG on the other hand is talking through his tooshey as usual.

Fred ( if he did ) should not have ordered you to remove your hat. Fred should have asked politely if you would remove it. Kind of what I think he would do. It is polite to remove your hat at certain times one would be in the court house. It is not against any law.

The sheriff should have had the trash littering Steubenville (aka anonymous)remove their masks or leave Steubenville and quit acting as cowards. You,as Americans, have the right to protest. But do it as adults, in the sunshine.

You'll get no argument from me about removing hats as long as Muslims and other turban wearers have to do so as well.

I totally agree...it's just plain disrespectful not to remove your hat when entering any public building. Not only that, but these days it's also a safety issue; you never know what some nut case may have under his hat!

Keith,..If you remember correctly it was once a show of respect to remove your hat when entering a bldg..You had to remove it when you entered school, church, the courthouse, ect..I think a lot of people have forgotten about it.
