Tired of living in ‘Little Chicago’January 13, 2013To the editor: I have never been what you would call “proud” to say I have lived all of my 56 years in Jefferson County, but the recent high-profile rape case now has me glad that my daughters have...... Showing 5 of 5 comments

You're most welcome for the outsideers opening up this case to the eyes of the Jefferson County officials who were charged to protect, uphold and serve and failed to do all three. The unfortunate thing is that this is exactly what small towns do--create an elite group of people and the rest pay for what the elite do at whatever expense it is. AND THEY DON"T WANT TO CEDE THEIR POSITIONS, EITHER. I have the misfortune of living in a small unincorporated township in the main service area of The Cleveland Plain Dealer and we are having similar trouble with our high school athlete/elite which have forced us to install a sophisticated surveillance system at our home to catch the vandals. When we found out who hit us three times last year, the elite made sure to disparage, slander and libel us. We're not through with them yet.

As stated before; I am sure there are many alledged criminals who'd like to leave the State.
This one does not make sense and only adds fuel to the fire of the mularky going on with this case.
Mr. DeWine should investigate that one too.

This event smells to high*****like the rest of the crap surrounding this horrible rape. The alleged rapist had NO BUSINESS BEING ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE STATE regardless of the reason. Also, how is this alleged criminal hooked up with Agresta? Did they bring him in as an arrangement to boost the football team roster? Now that I found out that Agresta is affiliated with School Board, the source of the stink can now be determined.

There is no valid reason why he should have been allowed to go to California. If someone else wanted to leave the state while under house arrest because the rest of their family was going, the request would not have been granted. This is completely unexplainable. It is beyond all logic and reasoning. He should have been remanded to the custody of the juvenile detention center or at the least to the custody of his bilogical mother for the duration of the Agresta's vacation. I would say in 95 percent of the country judges do not let someone standing trial for rape go on a family vacation.

It's not like the Agresta's were going on a family vacation, their son was invited out to play in a football game(I think it was football, I don't care for sports). I believe Malik was released to them on house arrest and not his parents(Odd, yes I think so) so if they had to leave town then of course Malik would go with them. I've read a few of his mother's postings on Facebook and it's obvious she loves her children very much so I don't understand why he wasn't released to her. Who knows, there could be a multitude of valid reasons so there is no point in trying to speculate on why.
