Arch Moore biography to be rereleased July 11

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) _ Woodland Press LLC is rereleasing former Gov. Arch Moore's biography in a softcover edition.

A release party for "Arch, The Life of Gov. Arch A. Moore Jr." will be held July 11 at Borders Bookstore in the Huntington Mall. The 85-year-old Moore and author Brad Crouser are expected to attend.

The 612-page book details the trials and tribulations of West Virginia's only three-term governor.

Moore, a Republican from Glen Dale, served as governor from 1969 to 1977 and from 1985 to 1989. He also served in Congress from 1957 to 1968.

Moore pleaded guilty in federal court in 1990 to five felonies — mail fraud, extortion, two counts of tax evasion and obstruction of justice — and was stripped of his law license.
