MINGO JUNCTION — On a sunny day in Mingo Junction, two teams that have had less than hot seasons thus far took the field, each trying to turn things around for the second half of the season. Weirton Post 10 took advantage of some early miscues by host Wintersville and put the game away late, taking a 13-3 victory in six innings on Monday at Muth Field. Weirton (8-18) pitcher George Magnone turned in a stellar performance, striking out 10 while walking none in the complete-game victory. Post 10 head coach Jason Fogg was impressed with what he saw out of Magnone. “He worked ahead in a lot of the counts and I think he kept their hitters off balance for the most part. He did a really nice job for us today,” Fogg said of Magnone. “I thought that this was one of his best outings of the year.” Early in the game, Post 557 stumbled and Weirton took advantage.
