Rezoning testimony heard

STEUBENVILLE — Two members of the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission heard testimony Monday on two rezoning proposals but took no action because of a lack of a quorum. The applications for rezoning has been under review since May when Albert Motors Inc. and the Jefferson Metropolitan Housing Authority made the individual requests to the planning commission. A final decision on the rezoning applications will come later today during a third and final reading of the rezoning ordinances during the City Council meeting. Four council members attended the public hearing Monday but did not indicate how they will vote at the meeting later today. Albert Motors Inc. officials, owner of Team Ford and Toyota, notified the planning commission in May the vehicle dealership wants to remove the rose garden at the corner of University Boulevard and Brady Avenue in order to construct a parking lot for used cars.
