Stand up, stand still, be quiet and be respectful
It’s really not that hard to do so during the National Anthem. Yet, it seems every time I am at a sporting event, some teenagers, or those younger, feel it’s OK to walk around, talk, blow bubbles with their gum and, basically, be thoroughly disrespectful. I watched it on Saturday when I was at a local sporting event. I watched a teenage girl walk around and find a seat while the national anthem was being played. Obviously, it was all about her. I watched three other girls, around the teen age, talk incessantly throughout the 120-second song. I don’t want to hear you. I don’t want to see you walking around At the same time, I don’t want a rendition of the national anthem longer than the one sung by Marvin Gaye at the NBA All-Star game in 1983. I want it sung respectfully and under 105 seconds. I don’t want the singer to inject a bunch of vocal gymnastics that puts the focus on the singer instead of the song.
