Bush 41-Clinton a worthy ticket
After their fictional epic battles, boxers Rocky Balboa and Apollo Creed became close friends and allies. Truth, thankfully, sometimes reflects fiction, in the name of all that is good about the United States of America. For President George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, his successor, have shown it’s possible for rivals to not only get along but to combine efforts to help others once ideology and the heat of battle is put aside. The elder Bush and Clinton squared off in the 1992 presidential election, with Clinton ending Bush’s presidency after just one term. With Clinton himself now eight years removed from office and Bush 16 years out of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, the two men regularly work to help those in need.
