New Cumberland Lions meet
NEW?CUMBERLAND — John Patton, Lions District 29L past governor, presented an orientation program at the New Cumberland Lions Club meeting. He spoke on the main objectives and purposes of Lions clubs and spoke on the history of Lions. Betsy Wells presided and introduced prospective members Terry Raines and Warren Wright. A thank-you for a pair of child’s eye glasses received courtesy of the Lions was read. Wells reminded members of the flag program at New Manchester Elementary School for third- graders, and several members volunteered to help Dorothy Hawkes with the program and the paper drive that is scheduled for March 27. Information about the District 29L Conference was announced. The parade of checks will take place at this event. Door prizes from the club for the conference will be obtained by Hawkes and Wells, and an item for the silent auction was donated by John and Margaret Patton.

Clash of the Choirs is Saturday
WINTERSVILLE —Five Edison High School vocal music department choirs will be singing with gusto to help raise money in support of local charities at the Clash of the Choirs event to be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Crossroads Christian Church.
