Jeter to present SAA workshop, demonstration
he Steubenville Art Association is continuing its lecture series with a demonstration presented by Barry R. Jeter at its March 17 meeting at 7 p.m. at Old Fort Steuben, 120 S.Third St. Jeter will utilize watercolor techniques with oil paints in his demonstration. Barry is an accomplished artist in many painting media and operates a studio in Pittsburgh. He is well-known regionally, is active in the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society and his work has merited numerous awards. He exhibits yearly at Three Rivers Arts Festival and many other jurored art festivals in Pennsylvania and Ohio. Hostesses will be Anna Zolgus, Ada Clark, Maci Beighley and Jean Irwin. Barry also will hold a workshop for SAA members and guests. He also will hold a workshop for SAA members and guests that day from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Historic Fort Steuben. The cost is $40. There will be a spaghetti and meat ball dinner at the Hill Top Fellowship Hall at the corner of county Road 46 and state Route 213 March 17 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Sabol to mark 100th birthday
Sophia D. Sabol of Mingo Junction will celebrate her 100th birthday March 13 with a dinner at Naples Restaurant and will receive a special blessing March 14 after the 8:30 a.m. Mass at st. Agnes Churc.
